The Sacristy light fixture was replaced. Patio stones were cleaned and sealed twice. The Church attic was inspected. A 4-plug box and surge protector were installed for the new digital piano. The organ blower was removed, repaired, and reinstalled. Bell tower and bell were cleaned. Wires were run for the new sound system to the loft, middle and front speakers.
COMMUNITY LIFE: 200th year celebration will be next year some time. Christmas decorations, Father said to go ahead and look. Christmas baskets will proceed, and we will need to call individuals or put in the bulletin to let them know we are doing them.

BEREAVEMENT: Three members of the parish have passed away since the first week of July. James “JB” C. Banbury passed away July 11. Graveside service at St. Luke Cemetery on July 22. Dorothy Colopy passed away July 23. Funeral Mass was at St. Luke July 28. Janet Butts passed away August 16. Funeral Mass was at St. Luke August 20. Please remember to keep these families in prayer during this difficult time. A new 12” X 12” pillow is now available in a choice of fabric colors. Those who have lost a loved one can provide a meaningful photo which is transferred to the pillow as a permanent keepsake. As with the items previously available, the first pillow is free; and any additional are $25 each. We have started making laminated obituary bookmarks, which have been well-received. The ministry recently purchased a 3” X 17” beeswax candle to be used at the Memorial Gathering each year. Names of those who have passed away will be engraved on brass plates and affixed to the candle. It will be lit each year at the gathering as a way of keeping their memory alive.
WORSHIP: The Bishop has given the pastors the faculty to celebrate Confirmation, but since he still wants to come and celebrate our 200th, I hope he can do Confirmation at the same time. We will see. Adoration is resuming at St. Vincent this week on a very limited basis. If all goes well, we hope to do the same at St. Luke soon. There will Not be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament – rather, it will be Adoration of Jesus in the tabernacle. We probably won’t have a Penance Service in Advent but will instead schedule extra time for Confessions by appointments.
SAFETY: We had an outage of the office internet this week. Cameras were visible in the office but not on Wi-Fi. Issue was a result of the Spectrum modem failing due to a storm. I spoke to Roger and suggested we double check all of our electronic equipment surge protectors. Currently we are streaming 5pm and 10am Mass. We are also simulcasting to the Center for 10am Mass. Ushers: We have adjusted the number of ushers to 4 for each Mass. Based on feedback it is working ok.There will be a Zoom Usher meeting during September to check in on how everything is going.
FINANCE: Finances are doing well; the offertory is steady, and we are well past our goal for the BAA. The finance committee met (by Zoom) to determine the best way to manage a significant estate donation. Discussion is ongoing.
Miscellaneous Notes: Digital piano is up and running. Telephone team is working on making calls. The sound system wiring is installed, and all should be finished by September 21. Bilco door was approved for basement of the rectory. In-Home Communion calls are to resume this month. No Nursing Homes as per guidelines.
