YOUTH REPORT: The Youth Group closing was Sunday, May 5
th with a dinner and tribute to mothers.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: Knight of the Month: The April Knight of the Month is Louie Mickley. Louie is a lifelong Catholic and member of St. Luke Parish. A longtime member of the K of C, he is a Fourth Degree Knight and Commander of the Color Guard. He is also past Grand Knight of Council 910. Louie is a past Parish Council President and is also a Eucharistic Minister and Usher. Louie and the children are always active supporting the Fish Fries and Pancake Breakfasts. Strong in his Catholic faith, extremely generous in his time - supporting many projects and ministries at St. Luke, he is an exceptional representative and member of the Knights of Columbus. Congratulations to Louie, Knight of the Month!
Family of the Month: The April Family of the Month is Ed and Monica Blanchard. Ed and Monica have a strong Catholic faith in their marriage as well as their children, Chris, Cindy, Chuck, Jenna, Travis, Bethany,
Madison, Ethan and Dylan. They both have been active supporting the Parish Renew Program, taking their Catholic Faith to other Parishioners and the Community. Ed, a Fourth degree Knight as well as Past Grand Knight, is a lifetime member of St. Luke Parish, is an Usher, and has donated his time and talent for the annual Parish Festival. Monica is a Eucharistic Minister, has been active with the Parish Festival, and has also taught PSR classes. The family is involved with 4H, and with their children’s love of horses, have raised them over the years also. Congratulations to Ed and Monica Blanchard, the Family of the Month!

PARISH COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN: The Louie Mickley Benefit dinner was held, serving around 600 people. The Good Friday luncheon was held, serving around 35 people. The Mother/Daughter Brunch was held this past Sunday, serving around 100 people. A big thank you goes out to the KofC who served the brunch. The PCCW will be donating to the Royal Kids Camp. There will be a planning meeting in June, and then will be no meeting until September.
DEANERY REPORT: No new report.
MAINTENANCE: The Rectory was prepared for Father Snoke’s Funeral. Installation of the SimpliSafe system was continued. Wheels were installed on the serving tables. Fast Eddy’s mulched the flower beds, other yard maintenance was done as well. The curb stoppers have been adjusted.

COMMUNITY LIFE: The Seder Meal was held on Palm Sunday – a big thank you to the Youth Group that helped serve. The Priests were served dinner before the Penance Service. Father Snoke’s Funeral dinner was prepped for and served. Father Homer Blubaugh’s Anniversary Mass & Reception will be May 19
th. The Baccalaureate was held May 5
th
SOCIAL CONCERNS: May is National Mental Health Month.
St. Vincent de Paul Clothing Haven and JOIN, are hosting a food sampling fundraising event called “Share the Table” – Join us for a tasting of several restaurants and bakeries from around the city, along with great food, drink, and fellowship, enjoy our raffle and silent auction. It will be held at the Church of the Resurrection Social Hall in New Albany on May 18

EDUCATION: The PSR closing was May 1
st with May Crowning. There were 8 parents that were met with for Confirmation next year, 2 more will be contacted for distribution of Service and Adoration sheets. May 26
th is the Graduation Mass.
BEREAVEMENT: The Bereavement Ministry spoke to the Association of Danville Area Ministers (ADAM) at their Spring Seminar on April 9
th. There were approximately 20 ministers in attendance. A background and brief functional overview was presented. A lot of positive energy was gained about the Ministry, and interest was expressed by the Ministers for possible implementation ideas. Kathy Wantland noted that she would be asking the Ministry to speak at other Seminars in the future as well. Barb McComb is meeting with Father Olvera on May 16
th for implementation options at St. Vincent. The Ministry is also newly working in conjunction with “The 3 C’s” (Catholic Christian Crusaders) to provide some limited services such as yard work, light painting, small repairs, etc. to widows and widowers, and particularly to the elderly and/or infirm. A brief handout describing the services and contact information regarding this joint operation is expected to be created soon.
WORSHIP: Father Hammond would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to ALL INVOLVED with Father Snoke’s Funeral.
SAFETY: The SimpliSafe software equipment has all been activated and connected to the SimpliSafe website. Monitoring on the new desktop has been confirmed, and locations for the equipment are being finalized. To allow for the completion of the installation, a Wi-Fi extender has been purchased.
LAWNMOWER SAFETY: Protect yourself and others against thrown objects by clearing the work area of rocks, sticks, toys, or any other materials that could become a missile when thrown from the mower blades. Wait until the grass is dry before mowing. Never leave a running mower unattended. Wear close fitting clothes, wear shoes with traction, and close-toed shoes. Protect your eyes and ears with glasses, goggles and/or ear plugs.
