St. Luke Parish Council Minutes

June 1, 2015

Present: Fr. Hammond, Vic Campanelli, Tom Harrmann, Tammy Harrmann, Bobbie Thomas, Dave Rashley, Marie Holland, Roger Holland, Don Hawk, Marcia Durbin, John Higgins, Joanna Mickley.

Absent: Monica Blanchard

Call to order: President Vic Campanelli

Opening Prayer: Led by Father Hammond

Approval of Minutes: Motion to approve April minutes as written. Motion passed.

Youth Group: First meeting was held on May 17, with 16 youth attending. Fr. Vince sent the youth off with a blessing. The youth went paintballing; kids paid half and the rest was provided by an individual. Finished off with prayer and some discussion. Theresa Morris and Amy Mickley will attend the nationsl Teen Life seminar in Scottsdale, AZ on June 7-10.

Squires: No report

Knights of Columbus: The May Family of the Month is Duane and Sheryl Mickley. Duane and Sheryl are long time active members of St. Luke Parish. Duane is currently an officer in Council #910 as well as a Fourth Degree Knight. The Knights wish to recognize and thank Duane and Sheryl for all their support of St. Luke Parish and The Knights of Columbus. The May Knight of the Month is Don Blanchard, currently is an officer in the council. Don is very active in the operation of Council 910. In addition to supporting Knights activities he is also an usher at St. Luke. The Knights wish to recognize and thank Don for all his support of St. Luke Parish and The Knights of Columbus. The Knights State Covention took place over Memorial Day weekend in Cincinnati.

PCCW: Next meeting will be held in September. Will give scholarships at the senior Mass. Bloodmobile will be held June 22 from 2-8pm. Will set up 2015-2016 calendar this summer. Bought new planters that are by the side entrance of church.

Deanery Report: Meeting was held at St. Luke on May 12, 2015. Fourteen were in attendance. Now in recess for summer.

Maintenance: Miscellaneous small projects have been done. Will be working on the playground on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 11:30 am. All are invited to come and help.

Finance and Administration: The Finance Committee will meet Tuesday, June 16. The BAA goal has been met. There is still time to make a pledge if you have not yet done so. All money over goal comes back to parish assessment free.

Community Life: Bulletin announcements will continue for the Pictorial directory. Portraits will be taken June 29, June 30, July 1, & July 24 from 2:30-9pm and July 25 from 10am-4pm. Will start calling soon. Have already had calls. Senior Brunch will be held Sunday, June 7^th for 19 people.

Social concerns: St. Edwards will hold a free summer camp for those with Austim from June 15 to July 31, 2015.

Education: Graduation Mass is June 7.

Worship: Deacon Brian O'Connor has been ordained and is now Father Brian.

Safe Environment: No report.

Old Business: Danville School Service Day was May 18. Was a big success. Thanks for all the help.

New Business: None

Agenda Items: Working on finalizing plans for the Parish Festival. Baskets for the auction are starting to be given out.
