APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Correction – Charlie & Linda Bratton presented an update on the Parish Festival.
YOUTH REPORT: Both Youth Group and Confirmation students have signed up to assist with the Parish Festival if available. If student’s availability changes, please contact Linda Bratton. The “Life Teen” program is in process of being purchased.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: Knight of the Month: Angelo Graziani. Angelo is a longtime member of St. Luke and a lifetime Catholic. He is a Fourth Degree Knight. He is a past Warden of Council 910. Angelo has helped with Measure Up. He also supports the Knights through help and attendance at events throughout the year. Congratulations to Angelo, Knight of the Month!
Family of the Month: Don and Barb Horn are lifetime Catholics. They are deeply committed to the Catholic Faith. Don and Barb are active in the Parish, they are involved in a Healing Ministry. Don is also actively involved in his Native American Culture events. They are active in helping at the Fish Fries. Don is a veteran and involved in the Veteran Color Guard. He was responsible for the wiring for the new projector and sound system in the Center, as well as rewiring the serving tables. Our thanks and congratulations to Don and Barb, the June Family of the Month!
Squires: The State Squires Convention was held June 7
th, 8
th and 9
th.. It was attended by Joseph Hedge, Dominic Mosher and Mark Hedge. New State Officers were elected for the new year. There will be a planning meeting for the St. Luke’s Circle to elect new Officers. All squires are encouraged to attend.
Support Our Seminarians: Our thanks for the continuing generosity of St. Luke’s Parish, the July Support our Seminarian collection was $234.57. Thank You!
July Officers’ Meeting: This year’s July Officers’ Calendar Planning will take place on July 29
th, 7:00PM, at the Community Center. Please let Dave Rashley know if there are any dates or events that need to be considered in our planning for next year.

PARISH COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN: No new report.
DEANERY REPORT: No new report. Bobbie Thomas is looking for someone to fill her spot on the Deanery Committee.
MAINTENANCE: The pie rack now has wheels. The Church side door was repaired, sealed and painted where needed. The ceiling tiles in the Women’s restroom in the Center were repaired. The East view security camera was installed. The Center railing was painted – thank you Shane! The doorbell was repaired, and the basement of the Rectory was cleaned. Ralston Art Memorial will be repairing headstones in the near future.
The 2020 Renovations Committee There have been meetings for quotes for painting in the Church. It was discovered that the pews may be able to be repaired without being removed. Tentative start dates for work are in the January 2020 time frame.
COMMUNITY LIFE: No new report.
SOCIAL CONCERNS: No new report.
EDUCATION: On June 18
th, Jaime Hilberg, Carrie Butts, and Sheryl Mickley met with 6 potential volunteers for the Confirmation Class 2019/2020. Schedule, curriculum outlines, and the “Chosen Series” were discussed. Sheryl Mickley will follow up with volunteers in July.
BEREAVEMENT: Once again, there have been no deaths in our immediate Parish family in the past month. However, Jody Mickley’s brother, Monty C. Shira, passed away unexpectedly on June 24
th. Please keep Jody and her family in your prayers during this difficult time. Barb McComb met with Fr. Olvera on June 6
th. It was decided that the best approach to starting a Bereavement Ministry at SVdP would be to place an announcement in their bulletin to gauge interest in doing so. An announcement was written and will be placed in their bulletin with a tentative date for an informational session on July 24
th at 7:00pm.
At the request of the “3 C’s”, Barb designed a handout with information regarding the group, which they approved. The handouts are now ready to provide to widows and widowers.
WORSHIP: Father Hammond would like to remind everyone that Father Peter Asantebwana will speak this coming weekend.
SAFETY: Three of the Four installed Simpli-Safe Units are up and running. They are being monitored by Sandy and Jane in the Office.
There still appears to be a wi-fi signal strength issue on the East side of the building. We are continuing to work to resolve. The east side/kitchen doorbell also will be installed soon.

AVOIDING HEAT-RELATED INJURIES AND DEATH:
Heat ExhaustionSigns & Symptoms: sweating, pale, ashen, or moist skin, muscle cramps, fatigue, weakness, or exhaustion, headache, dizziness, or fainting, nausea or vomiting, rapid heart rate.
Move victim to a shaded or air-conditioned area, give water or other cool, non-alcoholic beverages, apply wet towels or have victim take a cool shower. Heat Stroke Signs & Symptoms: body temperature above 103 degrees, skin that is flushed, dry and hot to the touch (sweating has usually stopped), rapid breathing, headache, dizziness, confusion or other signs of altered mental status, irrational or belligerent behavior, convulsions or unresponsiveness.
Call 911, move victim to cool place, remove unnecessary clothing, immediately cool the victim (immersing up to the neck in cold water, or use cold shower, or use cool wet towels) keep cooling until body temperature reaches 101 degrees or lower, monitor victim’s breathing and be prepared to give CPR. DO NOT force the victim to drink liquids. Try to avoid spending time outdoors during the hottest part of the day from 11am to 3pm to avoid these issues all together!

th at 6:00pm. Please bring one side dish – it is BYOB.
Dates are being discussed for the trip to Zoombezi Bay for all Altar Servers.
The KofC is taking responsibility for the Pop Machine in the Center.
