YOUTH REPORT: April 3
rd is the Penance Service. April 19
th is the Living Stations of the Cross (Practice at 4:00pm with Stations at 8:30pm). The Youth will bring money collected for the Knox County homeless to the April 14
th Youth Group meeting. May 1
st is the May Crowning and May 26
th is Graduation Mass.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: Knight of the Month: The March Knight of the Month is George Durbin. He has been a member of the Knights for over 31 years. George is a Fourth Degree Knight, and a member of the Color Guard. George, his wife Marcia and son Bronson are all active in their support of St. Luke and are long time members of the Parish. George is a past Grand Knight and currently a Trustee for Council 910. He is selfless and tireless in his support of St. Luke, Danville and Knox County. A Eucharistic Minister and Usher, he can frequently be seen supporting activities of other Ministries in addition to the K of C at St. Luke. He is a first responder, and is the Assistant Fire Chief for The Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District. He is always in the kitchen during Fish Fries and Pancake Breakfasts. In many cases he is the last to leave, making sure that everything is right before closing the facility. He is involved supporting the annual Cemetery Mass both in setting up and as a member of the Color Guard. George exemplifies the character and essence of a Knight of Columbus, congratulations George!
Family of the Month: The March Family of the Month is Alan and Estelle Parker. They joined St. Luke Parish 5 years ago. Alan is a third degree Knight and has gotten more active in the KofC. Estelle and Alan have been very active supporting the Friday Fish Fries. Estelle is active supporting Interchurch, volunteering at the Thrift Shop in Danville and also volunteers at the Brown Family Environmental Center. Alan enjoys cycling and is active with the Knox County Bicycling Coalition, a new organization that will be promoting greater use of trails in Knox County. We welcome Alan to the Knights of Columbus. Congratulations to Alan and Estelle, Council 910 Family of the Month!
Squires: The Annual Squires Retreat and Basketball Tournament was recently held at St. Luke. There were 25 in attendance. A very enjoyable and beneficial weekend for all.

The K of C State Convention is May 17, 18 & 19.
PARISH COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN: All 5 Self-Defense classes are complete. Husbands were invited to the last class to see what had been learned. Interest was shown for a conceal-carry class next year. The painting party/meeting was held March 25
th with 20 people attending – a good time was had by all! This Saturday, the PCCW will be preparing the food for Louie Mickley’s Benefit Dinner; a big thank you goes out to The Hot Spot, GFS, and the PCCW, whom purchased all food and donated it. The PCCW will prepare the Good Friday luncheon, as well as the Mother-Daughter Banquet on May 5
th. The April 9
th meeting is being re-scheduled.
DEANERY REPORT: No new report.
MAINTENANCE: The flower beds have been cleaned, and new bulbs have been installed over the Center stove. The railing on Rambo Street was fixed by GDN Welding – a big thank you to them. There is a new refrigerator in the Sacristy and new door closers in the Center restrooms. The bell tower was cleaned and the lamp in the Confessional was repaired. Plexi glass was installed over skylight in the class room. An estimate is being sought for broken cemetery headstones repair.
The 2020 Renovations Committee A flooring company will be coming for an estimate for the next couple weeks, and painting estimates will also be acquired in the near future.
COMMUNITY LIFE: The Starting Point Banquet is April 11
th and 12
th – there is still 1 more place for Thursday, and 2 places for Friday. The Seder Meal is Sunday April 14
th at 5:30pm. Cakes and help from the Youth Group will be needed. There will be a meal for the Priests served on April 3
rd before the Penance Service.
There will be a possible 7 week program for married couples in the future (Barb Smith).
SOCIAL CONCERNS: The Good Friday walking Stations of the Cross (Columbus), is April 19
th. The walk begins with opening prayer at St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 E. Broad St. in Columbus at 8am. Hundreds of participants from across the diocese will process to locations throughout downtown Columbus, to recognize Jesus Christ’s suffering and crucifixion, as well as to reflect on current areas of social concern. April is Autism Awareness Month. Autism Myth Busters is an Autism Awareness Month program on Wednesday, April 24
th from 6-7pm at the Martin de Porres Center, 2330 Airport Dr. in Columbus. The program will help identify many misconceptions that people have about the Autism Spectrum disorder. The program is sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Peace, and the Autism Society of Central Ohio. It is part of the center’s month-long observation AAM19, along with some art shows. BEREAVEMENT: There was a meeting with Kathy Wantland, Bereavement Coordinator for Hospice of Knox County, on Tuesday, March 26
th. She shared that she is offering the 2019 Spring Seminar to ADAM on April 9
th at the St. Luke Community Center. The theme of the Seminar is “Offering Hope in the Midst of Grief and Loss.” She asked that what the Bereavement Ministry has done be discussed, and contact information be provided to any of the attendees that may be interested in starting a ministry at their Church. To date, (8) memory bears have been either requested or completed. We continue to receive contributions in support of the Ministry. Thank you for your generosity.

rd is the Lenten Penance Service at 6:30pm. The new Bishop, Robert Brennan, had an Installation Date of March 29
th. April 28
th will be the First Communion Mass at 10am. The Stations of the Cross will be every Friday at 7:00pm, following the Fish Fry dinners. If you are at the Fish Fry, we encourage you to stay and come over to the Church afterward for the Stations!
