Respect Life: Even though Roe vs Wade was recently overturned, we need to continue to stand for life. The Knights of Columbus have always supported family life and affirmed the dignity and goodness of human life. Now the Knights are beginning a new program called Aid and Support After Pregnancy (ASAP). Patrick McCarthy, a SVdP parishioner, has reached out to our parish in response to this program. He is spearheading a plan to coordinate Respect Life resources and initiatives already in place in both parishes. He hopes to facilitate communication and to find out what we can do to better support moms in need. If you are interested in helping, please contact the parish office. Bereavement:Since the last meeting of Parish Council on July 11, 2022, no one from the parish has passed away. There are three deaths to report with connections to the parish, however. Patricia Kay Harris, the sister of Lynn (Marty) Miller, passed away August 4. Julie Sloboda, the sister-in-law of Barb (Dennis) Smith, died August 19. Please keep these families in prayer during this difficult time. Additional donations have been made to the ministry in the past month for which we are grateful. This year’s Memorial Gathering is scheduled Friday December 9. Father Blubaugh will officiate. In anticipation of the Bereavement Ministry at St. Vincent de Paul starting up, we will be assisting and offering our support as needed.
Worship: Our new seminarian will be officially introduced at the masses this weekend. His name is Kevin Girardi and he will be here until June. Real Presence/Real Future: Parishioners can download the slides of RPRF for our region. Keep in mind that these are recommendations; no decisions will be made until May 2023. If there is interest in going over these recommendations, Dave Rashley will hold a meeting. Contact Dave if you are interested in attending a meeting.
Safety: The glass doors at the back of the church will continue to be locked 10 minutes after mass begins. The side entrance door will be locked at the beginning of the mass readings. Finance & Administration: Fr. Hammond reported that the finance committee met to propose the budget for the coming year and it was published and inserted in the bulletin. Our parish is financially sound at this time. We are hoping to fill the vacant custodial position as soon as possible. Several people have inquired about the job.

David “Dave” Mickley, brother of Mary Jo (Chet) Looney, Sandra Ridgeway, Kay Waren and Joan (Steve) Workman, died July 31.
Ushers are asked to stand to the side of the door in order to allow people to enter the side door and have access to the bulletins.
