APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Approved as amended (Chris Mehringer-Smith and Tammy Harrmann were not present at Council in December).
Education: Youth Group: Began 4 to 6-week course on self-reflection – who do they see themselves as now (characteristics) and who do they want to become? Youth will be assisting with moving tables and chairs in the center for events in the upcoming months.
Confirmation: Moving along in sessions with great attendance for majority of group. Sponsors and Saint have been selected. Working on outline for All-day Retreat March 14th. “Thank You” Vic and Joann Campanelli for the use of their facility and lunch for the retreat.
PSR: Classes resume this Wednesday with a few changes to classrooms due to the move over to the
center for church. The Director of Religious Education for the Columbus Diocese visited to look at curriculum and projects for all of our educational program. Curriculum meets diocese benchmarks with comments about all of the great things we offer our youth throughout the year. Stated St. Luke’s is very fortunate to have so many dedicated volunteers for the programs that serve our youth.

PARISH COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN: There was no December meeting. Tuesday January 14
th will be the first meeting of the year at 6:00pm with Euchre; there will be soups and sandwiches there. A family from our Parish was assisted with gifts and dinners this Christmas season. The Valentine Dance will be Saturday, February 8
th at 6:00pm. Tickets are on sale now. There are 35 left. Line dancing is tentatively scheduled for February 2
nd, 2020.
DEANERY REPORT: Wednesday January 8
th is the next meeting, at St. Vincent. Our Parish has offered to assist with snacks, etc.
MAINTENANCE: There was recently an Asbestos inspection – no report has been received yet. Miscellaneous cleaning in the church was done. The new security system is complete (wired and running). The garage is being organized. There were several more cemetery repairs done. A huge
Thank You is being extended to everyone that assisted with the move to the Center while Renovations take place!
The 2020 Renovations Committee the Renovations have begun. There was discussion about possibly providing weekly updates in the Bulletin to keep the Parish involved as things progress.
PLEASE NOTE: It has been advised that no one should enter the Church while renovations are taking place, unless absolutely necessary, due to Safety Concerns, Thank You.
COMMUNITY LIFE: There were 77 Christmas Baskets – 65 boys, 60 girls. The Racoon Dinner will be held at the Center on February 3
rd, 2020. The proceeds will benefit Skyler Moore.
SOCIAL CONCERNS: (Includes part of Respect Life Update) January is Poverty Awareness Month. January 21-29, 2020 are the 9 Days for Life. It is a multi-faceted novena for the respect and protection of human life. Each day, a different intention is accompanied by a short reflection, suggested actions, and related information. nd, 2020 is Respect Life Mass/Day of Prayer for the legal protection of unborn children. The mass will be at 10:30am at St. Joseph’s Cathedral. This is the day of the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling of Roe vs. Wade. Our Diocese will join all dioceses of the United States in observing a Day of Prayer for the legal protection of unborn children. All are invited.
On January 25
th, NAMI Knox/Licking Co. is hosting an Aromatherapy Workshop at The Makery (1 N. Main St. Mount Vernon). There is limited space, but the event is free. Call to reserve your spot at 740-397-3088.
RESPECT LIFE: See above for 9 Days for Life and Respect Life Mass information. The final details of the March for Life trip are being completed by Sheryl Mickley. Call the Parish Office with any questions/concerns.
BEREAVEMENT: JoAnn Guinther passed away December 27
th, 2019. Walter Rice, father of Marty (Kim) Rice, passed away December 7
th, 2019. Please keep all in your prayers during this difficult time. Of the 45 people who planned to attend the second annual Memorial Gathering, 42 were present. We are considering changing the day of the week starting in December of this year, so that either Father Hammond, Father Olvera, or both might be able to attend. For those unable to attend and receive their gift from the Bereavement Ministry, we will be mailing or hand delivering those items over the next several weeks. Deacon Tim has informed the ministry that there are now a group of individuals at St. Vincent who are interested in starting a Bereavement Ministry. He would like Barb McComb to meet with them sometime this month. At the Memorial Gathering, we received a $50.00 donation for the ministry, for which we are most grateful. As with all of the donations we have received – it will be used to further the mission of the Ministry.
WORSHIP: We are now in a temporary space for Worship.
SAFETY: Training for the new Security System is completed.

*First Aid Kits should include 81mg Chewable Aspirin but NOT Ibuprofen. Maintain a list of kit contents and keep contents regularly inspected.

NEW BUSINESS: Rochelle Adam present for discussion – Several Quotes for replacement of the sound system have been received. Details/recommendations are being discussed. Telecoil System (hearing aid assistance) addition to sound system was also discussed.
